Announcing 2017 Colorado Downtown Streets Workshops!

Colorado is experiencing a steady increase in population and tourism, and with this comes an interest in revitalizing our downtowns and main streets.

Through a partnership between CDOT, CDPHE, DOLA and Community Builders, three, half-day workshops are being held this March and April to help communities learn how to strike a balance among the many demands facing their downtown streets. Workshop attendees will learn how to communicate and work with state and local agencies, identify problems, consider solutions, and get projects built to improve their downtown.

The workshops are designed for community residents, engineers, planners, advocates, and anyone else interested in making their downtowns better. Workshop attendance is limited so those that are interested are encouraged to sign up now.

The Downtown Streets workshops will be hosted in Woodland Park, La Junta, Brush, Cortez and Meeker. Please use the registration links below to sign up for a workshop in one of these communities:

Colorado Downtown Streets

Great streets are the backbone of great communities. But what do they look like, and how do they get built? The Colorado Main Street Program of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs hired us to develop a publication providing tools, tips and best practices to help Colorado communities build great streets. The result is Colorado Downtown Streets: A Tool for Communities, Planners, and Engineers.

The full publication, along with supplemental materials can be found on DOLA's website HERE

Minute on Main Street

We created four independent videos for DOLA further explaining concepts illustrated in the publication.
